Thank you all for checking in and some ways you can help

Thank you to all of you who texted/emailed/messaged to check in on us during this week. Fortunately a lifetime of living on the Texas Gulf Coast and always being hurricane-ready is a tough habit to break even when we moved to Dallas 3 years ago which has no hurricanes. We were prepared for such an unexpected event and had plenty of food and water even though we lost power. We've had continuous power for the last two days which makes everything much easier.

Unfortunately many across Texas weren't as fortunate and are still dealing with the effects of this winter storm even as the temperatures start to rise and the snow begins to thaw including lack of clean water and food, loss of home, and in some cases loss of loved ones.

If you are able to and are looking for a way to help, I've included links to organizations in Texas that we have personally supported throughout the years that are in need of assistance. They include the North Texas Food Bank, The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley, and Sea Turtle, Inc of South Padre Texas.

You can read about the work Sea Turtle Inc does year round as well as why their mission is so important during this week using this link: Volunteers In Texas Are Saving Thousands Of Cold-Stunned Sea Turtles From The Storm
